2024 Trojan Varsity Football Team

Division I Select State Runners-Up

The Trojans turned in an historic season in 2024, setting a new school record for wins in a season with 13. They finished undefeated in the regular season for the first time in school history, won the District 2-5A championship for the first time, and advanced to the state title game for the second time in five seasons, playing in the Superdome for the first time.

Led by senior running back JT Lindsay, who rushed for a school-record 2,361 yards and scored 37 total touchdowns on his way to earning Class 5A all-state honors as well as a host of other postseason accolades, the Trojans turned in an historic offensive season. They scored at least 40 points in every single game during the regular season as well as the first two playoff victories before defeating longtime state powerhouse John Curtis, 24-13, in a defensive battle in the semifinals.

Although the Trojans came up short against Edna Karr at the Superdome, coach Thomas Bachman's Trojans showed once again that they belong in any conversation of Louisiana's elite high-school football teams as they defeated some of the state's top teams in 2024, including Destrehan, Opelousas, Ruston, West Monroe, Neville and Curtis.

While Lindsay, along with sophomore quarterbacks Karsen Sellers and Max Gassiott as well as senior receivers Darius Washington and Jimmie Duncan, received most of the headlines during the season, the Trojan defense also turned in some standout performances. Junior linebacker Xzavier White was a consensus first-team all-state selection after compiling 188 tackles on the season, while senior defensive back Jaden Lewis and senior defensive lineman Jordan Mason also earned all-state accolades.

Thomas Bachman
Head Coach

Thomas Bachman became the head coach of the Trojans' football program in December 2015, one year after moving to ASH to serve as the team's offensive coordinator.

A record-setting wide receiver at Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Coach Bachman earned the state's Class 5A Offensive MVP as a senior before beginning his college-football career at Texas Tech and eventually finishing at Louisiana College.

After serving as an assistant at his alma mater, Bachman spent time as the offensive coordinator and later head coach at Bastrop High School from 2010-14 before moving to Alexandria.

Coach Bachman wrapped up his 10th season with the Trojans in 2024, including his ninth as head coach, improving his record to 68-38 at ASH and 91-59 overall as a head coach.
